2012 Cricket Wireless Amphitheater Internship Program

WHAT:
Cricket Wireless Amphitheater (formerly Sandstone Amphitheater) is hiring for an Event and Marketing Intern. This intern will work in conjunction with our Event Coordinator, and learn about many aspects about the concerts and entertainment industries, including marketing, sponsorship, ticketing, operations, and production in both large and small scale events. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating with radio stations to pitch and implement ticket-for-media trades
• Assisting with ticket printing and learning the Ticketmaster system
• Participating in non-traditional ticket distribution and grassroots marketing campaigns
• Coordinating and recruiting for the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater Street Team
• Managing the Sponsorship Recap project throughout the season
• Assisting with client, VIP, and Sponsor services
• Event logistics assistance at both Wild Country events and major concerts
• Collaborating with all other departments, including sponsorship and marketing
• Working on-site at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in conjunction with the sponsorship and marketing departments

WHO:
The ideal person for this position is striving for a career in event planning or promotions, particularly in the entertainment industry, and has a passion for music and a drive to succeed. They have experience and insight that makes them a valuable asset, but most importantly are willing to learn and adapt. Necessary skills include:

• An excellent understanding of basic office software (MS Office, Google Docs); Adobe Creative Suite knowledge is preferred but not required.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with an understanding of project management and attention to detail.
• A fun and professional personality, with the ability to easily cultivate relationships with a variety of people
• A marketing background, and a basic understanding of marketing theory
• The ability to work long hours in various conditions and situations
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently
• Previous event/concert and marketing experience is preferred

THE DETAILS:
This internship is unpaid. Work is preferred to be for college credit, but not required. The length of this internship is from May 7th-Aug 10th, but schedules may be flexible. Time commitments include approximately 2 office days per week (which may be flexible) and attendance at all Cricket Wireless Amphitheater concerts and events. This internship will challenge you, but will help you get your feet wet in a variety of aspects of the entertainment industry and provide a rewarding experience with valuable step towards a career in this business.
