Our celebration of Earth Day!

Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone kicks off their third concert season on April 23, the day after Earth Day on April 22. To mark this occasion, Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone is planting fifteen trees throughout venue this week and installing solar lighting at the venue’s entrance and exit signs this spring.

“Thanks to our partners CEI, we are able to install solar lighting at both signs. This will provide us with a cost-efficient and eco-friendly way to operate our venue,” says Chris Fritz, President of New West Presentations. “Narrow Tree Nursery is also providing all of our plants, trees and landscaping needs. Narrow Tree has been a partner since we took over management of the venue in 2008 and has been a vital asset to our green initiative program.”

Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone continues to strive to create an exciting concert experience as well as impacting the social conscious awareness and philosophy of the world today.

“Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone has been diligently making changes to create a space that offers eco-friendly opportunities. We have improved the seating, concession areas and enhanced the layout of the outdoor venue,” says Chris. The venue’s partners include businesses and organizations that actively support their green initiatives such as Capitol Federal, Anheuser-Busch, Bridging the Gap, Greenability Magazine, A.B. May, Allied Waste and Music Matters.
